If you are reading this post, hoping that the title means that it might get a little bit spicy up in here... well... you never know but in this case it is simply referencing some surprising finds I stumbled upon while I was doing some intensive pruning along the side of the house... Me? Outside doing yardwork? I enjoy yardwork when it is 35 degrees out. Because of the cool temps I get to comfortably attend to the work in full coverage clothing which greatly reduces any rash producing irritants I might be getting my skin into contact with. I like cold weather! Fun fact: My back is a welcoming place for icy hands to warm up.
So after that little digression, I will now get back to the birds and the bees ... I came across a massive hive structure in one of the trees I was cutting back. It turns out it wasn't a bees nest but as hornets nest. Hornets don't use the same nest year after year and it has gotten cold enough for the inhabitants to have died off so I will be knocking it down.

Right next to the hornets nest were a couple of birds nests. I don't know what birds live/d there. I will be watching to see if I can identify them. Needless to say. I will leave those nests intact.

In other news, No. We didn't finish the bathroom ceiling this weekend. Saturday was dedicated to just laying low, sleeping in and binge watching shows (It seems there were a few impressive shows that happened when we were abroad that were ot available to us). Sometimes you just need a little down time. Plus it gave us just the rest we needed to finally shake off of the stupid lingering effects of the virus that is going around. Sunday Greg took Willow out birthday shopping for some warmer winter clothes. Her boy friend has some big secret outing planned for her. She is starting to get nervous about all the big changes coming up. Getting a job, moving out, getting her health straight, But she is now regulating her temperature normally (after coming off some meds) and she will be starting Embrel for the auto immune stuff soon. There was an issue with the pharmacy that delayed its arrival .. anyway.. soon. And I know that will make a big difference in her overall pain and daily functioning. She will be just fine. Step by step.. there is time to adjust. After the shopping, Greg and I went to work replacing a pillar that supports the roof over the front porch. The winter snow and salt had started to deteriorate the base. It still needs to be painted but it has been sucsessfull replaced with weather resistant wood. So despite a languid Saturday, the weekend was productive.
Connor worked part of an extra shift sunday morning before hanging out with his buddy for the afternoon. It was a super good day for him. Hes a double Capicorn (sun and rising) and any time he stops work to enjoy himself is cause to be celebrated. *Snicker* Capricorn.

Speaking of working hard, I have a job interview scheduled for later today. Yep. I am going back to work folks! More on this later.
